Jill steadily took on more responsibilities in estate management and trust formation. As President of the Corundum Group, she now manages clients’ portfolios with financial concierge services. Her 30,000 foot-view of her clients’ worlds positions her to identify potential vulnerabilities and provide solutions. As a member of the Investment Committee, she also creates and manages investments that provide clients with one-of-a-kind opportunities.

As a natural connector who genuinely cares about doing what’s right for the person in front of her, this is a fit for Jill’s values. Jill appreciates the opportunities her role provides to build community and contribute to important causes. Jill has served on planning committees, fundraising committees, and as a board member for a number of charitable organizations. In addition to lending her skills on a leadership level, she has also done hands-on volunteer work with the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Goodwill, and Something New.

Jill has a special place in her heart for vulnerable populations. She is passionate about causes that build community and provide support systems that change lives rather than just providing a temporary fix.

As a community-minded person, Jill enjoys creating opportunities for people to connect–whether by baking something to bring friends and family together around a table or by hosting casual gatherings. She also enjoys getting out in the sunshine to walk with friends or jog with her dog Lacey.

Steve has been with Central Bancorp from the beginning and previously spearheaded Central Bancorp’s insurance affiliate, CB Insurance. His current role as Chairman is to support the organization’s Presidents in strategic planning, long-term vision setting, and business development. One of Steve’s main goals is to help prepare the firm for future generations–adapting to the evolving needs of clients while preserving their legacies.

In addition to the Corundum Holdings Board, Steve serves on the Corundum Trust Company Board of Directors. He also offers his expertise on various community and non-profit boards, including Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Colorado, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, and the Care and Share Foundation Board of Trustees.

In the Fall, Steve returns to the Midwest to work on his wife’s family’s farm in West Central Illinois. It’s been in the family for generations and for reasons unbeknownst to him, the family allows him to operate heavy equipment! On the farm, you head out early, work until sundown, and then share a scotch and cigar with the team. It’s a terrific experience and one he looks forward to each year.

Whether attending annual gatherings on the farm, visiting his hometown of Cincinnati, hiking with family, or cheering for the Bengals, Steve cherishes these moments of connection and tradition.

Alyssa grew up in Sioux Falls, earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of South Dakota, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of South Dakota School of Law. It was the special interest she took in her Trust and Estate courses that led her to pursue a career in trust administration.

Growing up in a tight-knit family and being the caretaker type, means watching out for other families just comes naturally for Alyssa. Now, with her husband and their two young boys, it is still all about family. At home, Alyssa’s values show up in her commitment to being present with her children. Alyssa is committed to providing a loving home and being a good example for her boys.

Her penchant for organization and her vision for how things work together suits Melissa’s role at the Corundum Group well. She is responsible for making sure operations function efficiently and effectively and also ensuring company policies are in line with SEC and state regulations. While the stakes are higher than a 1,000-piece puzzle on the dining room table, the satisfaction that comes from protecting advisors and clients is higher, too.

Unsurprisingly, Melissa has her own systems to keep the complicated work in order. She has highlighters in every color and uses an iPad to color code notes, her calendar, and just about every other aspect of her life.

Melissa’s credentials include a BS in Business Management and a specialty certificate for compliance from FINRA Institute at Georgetown. She also has her Series 65, life accident and health insurance license, and is a member of National Society of Compliance Professionals (NSCP) and former member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

Melissa’s love for people extends to her volunteer work beyond the office. She has a passion for breaking the cycle of homelessness and advocating for children who have been abused or neglected. One of her long-term goals is to start an organization that brings together the legal, psychiatric, medical, and foster-care aspects of the system to create a safe, one-stop environment for kids.

Melissa married her high school sweetheart, Jared, and they have a bustling home with three kids, four dogs, and a cat. They bounced around with the military for years and made Colorado home after falling in love with the sunshine and mountains. Melissa’s dad leaned into his last name of Pittz and became the world’s biggest Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Jared married into the burgh traditions and together, their family enjoys game-day Steelers’-themed pancakes (complete with red, yellow, and blue frosting). Of course, they believe their traditions provide a little extra luck to their favorite team!

During his two years working in Cape Town, John crossed paths with and married a Belgian lady—Brigitte—with whom he raised two children. Being a husband and father provides balance and perspective.

Life has a way of coming full circle and John’s background—particularly with financial institutions—gives him the analytical skills and experience to serve clients with passion and confidence. John is uniquely suited for the stimulating challenges at the Corundum Group. He likes to say that getting to work with such a terrific team and great clients makes him want to tap dance to the office every day.

On the weekends, you might find John exercising, playing guitar, listening to music, or savoring chocolate chip cookies. So basically, he is smart, athletic, artistic, and well-traveled.

It takes a bonafide nerd (a title Justin wears proudly) to truly enjoy the fast-paced action of keeping up with technology, regulations and varied client needs that are required to keep the firm functioning at a high level. Justin’s passion serves him well in his role at the Corundum Group.

Don’t be fooled by Justin’s messy desk. He knows where every single item is and he wants it that way. There’s a method to his madness!

The desk is filled with paper and reports and his brain is filled with the facts that make things work. As for his home, it’s usually filled with foster kittens. In addition, Justin, his wife, and their two daughters sponsor a Peruvian child and do charity work whenever possible. His experience as a first generation immigrant and world traveler continually expands his perspective and contributes to his sincere interest in people.

Even though Courtney was born and raised in Miami, as an adult she and her husband decided that the fast-paced and traffic-filled lifestyle was no longer what they wanted so they sold their home and headed for the hills of Colorado. Courtney lived and worked in Boulder for five years before deciding to move to Colorado Springs to be closer to family and find a company she could be with for the long term. She found that special place at Central Bancorp. As the Director of Marketing, she especially enjoyed helping each business unit figure out solutions and market to their unique strengths.

Courtney’s current role as Client Relationship Manager with Corundum Group brings together her diverse talents: helping people, problem solving, and simplifying complex information.

For Courtney, one of Colorado’s biggest benefits is getting to ski regularly and enjoy the outdoors year-round. Having a (very) big family gave Courtney something akin to a Master’s Degree in Peacemaking with an emphasis in Big Personalities. This helped set her up for success as much as any formal education. Courtney is fortunate to live on the same block as her sister and her family.

Courtney and Nick are also parents to their adorable dog Boots – whom she walks daily. She loves music, books, and films. If she watches even two minutes of a movie, she will finish it even if it’s terrible. She simply must know how it ends.

Raised in Fort Collins, Colorado, Braiden grew up in a family that valued loyalty, hard work, and showing up for the people who matter. After over 15+ years playing hockey, he carried forward a mindset centered on discipline, teamwork, and staying calm under pressure. These traits have become integral to how he operates in his professional role.

As a Senior Client Advisor, Braiden works closely with founders, executives, and families to simplify complexity and support long-term planning. He oversees client relationships, guides investment management across public and private markets, and helps clients think strategically about growth, liquidity, and multi-generational goals. Braiden takes pride in creating an environment where clients feel understood, supported, and confident in the decisions ahead.

Outside of work, Braiden enjoys everything Colorado has to offer including golfing, hiking 14ers, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with Finnley, his Bernese Mountain Dog. A dedicated Colorado sports fan, he stands by the Broncos and Avalanche through every season, good or bad. Above all, Braiden values the time he spends with friends and family and the opportunity to create a welcoming and memorable environment for the people in his life.

Kolton started working as a Personal Banker after completing his time at SDSU and has further developed his talents into his current role as a Trust Officer for Corundum Trust Company in Sioux Falls, SD. Kolton has been administering Trust accounts for over five years and has always enjoyed getting to know the families he works with. While Kolton realizes the importance of building wealth, he also understands the impact proper trust structuring can have on growing and preserving that wealth while implementing the client’s desired plan.

When Kolton is not in the office he enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, shooting pool, and helping his dad in the Spring and Fall at their family’s farm.
