During John’s 11 years in public accounting with Deloitte in Colorado Springs, South Africa and New Zealand, he worked with many companies in diverse industries. After that, he served for 22 years as the plan administrator and chief financial officer of a multiemployer defined benefit pension plan that exceeded $1 billion in assets. This experience taught John about portfolio construction and management as well as performance measurement and asset allocation. In these roles, John had the particular benefit of learning from leading investment professionals, CPA’s, lawyers and actuaries.
During his two years working in Cape Town, John crossed paths with and married a Belgian lady—Brigitte—with whom he raised two children. Being a husband and father provides balance and perspective.
Life has a way of coming full circle and John’s background—particularly with financial institutions—gives him the analytical skills and experience to serve clients with passion and confidence. John is uniquely suited for the stimulating challenges at the Corundum Group. He likes to say that getting to work with such a terrific team and great clients makes him want to tap dance to the office every day.
On the weekends, you might find John exercising, playing guitar, listening to music, or savoring chocolate chip cookies. So basically, he is smart, athletic, artistic, and well-traveled.
